HS Nichols, London, 1896. Buckram. 1st Editions in English. A 4 Volume set the Memoirs of Constant who was the Emperor's Head Valet. Containing the details of the private lives of Napoleon, His family and his Court. Each volume with a different engraved frontispiece of the Emperor. First translated from the French by Percy Pinkerton. Set bound in original red cloth with gilt decorative 'N' to the center of the front board, volumes. Page count as follows vol. 1: 374 pp, vol. 2: 330 pp, vol3: 331 pp, vol 4: 328 pp.
The set is just good with some cracked hinges all holding text clean with just minor foxing , edge wear, light soiling, spine darkened . See Photos
