Printed by Richard Taylor, Sold by W. Wood. London. 1832. 4to.. pp. (ii), 68. 8 plates, of which 7 are double [outline and full], engraved by ZEITTER after Owen's drawings. Original cloth now much faded, rebacked saving the paper label, all the plates damp-marked along the lower margins, the text clean, presentation inscription with the stamped signature of EDWARD TRIMMER - 'The Library of Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge from the Council of the College [of Surgeons of London].' *GARRISON-MORTON #325 - Owen's paper was the first to report upon the examination of a complete specimen of Nautilus, captured in the New Hebrides by George Bennett FLS in 1829. This specimen was the only complete animal to have been seen up until that time.
