About This Item
Cloth boards with gilt lettering on spine and front cover with pages clean and tight. Unclipped DJ slight rubbing to top edge now protected in our mylar sleeve. Overall a very nice copy.
This fascinating exploration accounts the development of the riverside village that John Batman founded in 1835, through to the present-day metropolis it has become. Beautifully illustrated throughout, including numerous coloured plates, and a view from Collins and Swanston Streets depicted in sepia on the back endpaper.
Scottish born Agnes Paton Bell moved to Melbourne and was delighted by its scenery and history. She also wrote "Early Caulfield". In original cloth binding with coloured decorative unclipped dustwrapper.
