Good. Almost Very good orange cloth, no djacket. NOT the Stated first ed., Doubleday, Doran & Co (1938) early printing, with blindstamped pictorial Chinese characters on front cover and ink stamp on back board announcing "An approved selection of Parents' Magazine's Book Club For Beginning Readers." Crayon marks on four pages, not affecting text. Black scuffs back cover. Corners bumped. Pictorial endpapers. No further printings. Likely 1st ed./2nd printing late 1938 or early 1939. No ex-library or other reader marks.
