Caspari Fritsch. Name of owner on front free end page with some lettering on paste-down. A. Corn. Celsi was a Roman with an almost encyclopedaedic knowlege on medicine whose treatise stands as a best source for understanding Roman medicine. He was a major figure in the study of the origins of ancient medicine. 5 decorated compartments on spine - with title in gilt lettering on orange in one compartment. Red tint to all edges. Engraved illustration of A Corn Celsus (Celsi) as frontispiece and an illustration on Page 599. Scattered foxing with some age-toning. 777 Pages. Condition: Very good for its age. Binding: Hardcover. Speckled boards with leather spine and corners. Edge-wear with bumping and fraying to corners and top edge of spine. Abrasions and a few marks to covers. Evidence of insect damage to top edge of rear board.
