About This Item
[Twain, Mark] [Clemens, S. L.] Lillard, John F. B., ed. THE MEDICAL MUSE, GRAVE AND GAY. New York: I. E. Booth, 36 West 126th St. [1895] First edition, state 2. Original printed buff wrappers. A very good copy with mild silverfish traces on lower portion of front wrapper (the wrapper stock was heavily sized). A very rare little booklet (we have never even seen a copy in the first state in the market or in any Twain collection catalogue). Prints Twain's poem, `The Love Song' at p. 44. BAL records this book with a title-page dated 1896 and an address at 33-45 Gold Street, and gives that imprint priority for some reason. BAL 3445.
