About This Item

Seattle: Street of Crocodiles, 1993. Limited Edition. Hardcover Half-Cloth Over Decorated Paper-Covered Boards. Fine. Jules Remedios Faye. 12mo. Unpaginated. Illustrated with 15 linocuts. Bound in black half-cloth over exquisite paste paper covers, printed paper label on spine. A bright, fresh copy with no detracting qualities. Of an edition limited to 125 copies, this is hand-numbered copy #38. Signed by Faye at the colophon. A wordless novel concerning Hebdomeros' inability to grab hold of language. Faye provides a one-page introduction, letterpress, explaining the myth that informed her illustrated narrative. Faye's linocuts are enchanting, combining a 1920s avant-garde aesthetic with an contemporary vibe that's quite electric.
