About This Item

Press of Morningside Bookshop, 1980. Hardcover. Meade of Gettysburg (Facsimile). Author: Cleaves, Freeman. Dayton, OH: Press of Morningside Bookshop. 1980 reprint of 1960 edition. Size is small octavo (8vo), 8.75"/22cm. Tan (with a hint of green) cloth over boards, black lettering on spine. DJ in blue, gold and white featuring photo of Meade on front. 205 leaves (xii pages introductory material, 384 numbered pages, six pages of advertisements or blanks in rear, plus six sheets of glossy illustrations). Appendix, bibliography, index, and four pages of "Some Books published by Morningside Bookshop." Condition notes: A good reading copy of the facsimile edition. Cloth boards clean and sharp, binding square and tight. No notes or highlighting. Light soiling evident on top edge. Primary flaw of this nice copy is exposure to moisture, evident in light but noticeable discoloration and wrinkling at tail edge, spine end, approx 1" x 2" throughout. No sticking or odors. DJ likewise affected. DJ shows moderate wear, especially along edges, wrapped in mylar. We personally inspect every book we offer.

About Furrowed Brow Books

Furrowed Brow Books was established in 2020. The bookstore's owner, Paul Purman, grew up in an old farmhouse full of books. Paul had been providing online booksales since 2008 through several popular online sales venues. In 2021 Paul was accepted as a member of the Independent Online Booksellers' Association (IOBA), and graduated from the annual Colorado Antiquarian Book Seminar (CABS-Minnesota).

Furrowed Brow Books' goal is to offer an eclectic selection, while providing specialty offerings in Eastern Orthodoxy and Byzantine civilization, theology, Christian mysticism, science fiction/fantasy (Inklings emphasis), and military history.

We're happy to discuss making an offer on a collection in one of our specialty areas.
