ca 1853 quarter bound hardcover as pictured. Binding is firm. Brown cloth and leather boards with embossed spine and gold stamping are very worn with loss of head and tail of spine and frayed bumped corners. Linen reinforced hinges are intact but the overlying leather has cracked. Writing on front endpapers. Half title page is lost. Endpapers and text are mottled. Text appears unmarked.
