Robert Rutherford "Colonel" McCormick (1880-1955) was an American lawyer, businessman and anti-war activist A member of the McCormick family of Chicago, he became a lawyer, Republican Chicago alderman, distinguished US Army officer in World War I, and eventually owner and publisher of the Chicago Tribune newspaper A leading Republican and isolationist; McCormick opposed the increase in federal power brought about by the New Deal and later opposed American entry into World War II This copy is very good in green cloth with silver titles on the spine and black illustration on the front cover Light water staining at the bottom edge of the front cover and spine, but otherwise the binding is tight and sound Illustrated endpapers (see photo) Text has slight age toning, but no other marks or damage Clipped DJ is very good with minor chipping on edges, and is now in a protective plastic cover Signed by author on half title page 328 pp.
