Square, tight and clean throughout with just a touch of wear to spine ends. Board edges just starting to tone. The Maverick Queen is an exceptional book that is based on a real incident which happened all those years ago. When first printed in this form it had certain parts excised out--such as what Kit Bandon did for a living in addition to cattle rustling--and I'll let you guess what that was, or read the unexpurgated version printed by Pocket Books in 1982. But this is the story of Linc Bradway who is on the trail of the person who killed his best friend and the trail leads him to South Pass Wyoming, a town over run by gamblers and gunfighters. There he meets Lucy Bandon, Kit's niece, which complicates matters quite a lot. But then with Zane Grey the course of true love never ran smoothly. The resolution to Linc's situation and the final scenes in the book make it one of Zane Grey's most powerful books. I highly recommend it.
