M. H. Gill & Son Ltd., 1955. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1955. Second Edition. 278 pages. No dust jacket. Dark red cloth with gilt lettering to spine. Contains black and white photographic plates. Front free endpaper is missing. Pages are moderately tanned with mild foxing to text block edges. Moderate cracking to hinges and gutters, with exposed netting. Binding is fairly loose. Pencil inscription to reverse of frontispiece, with ink staining, water drops and a few small nicks along text block edge. Liquid stain through pages 3-10, wit ink staining to corner of rear pages. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with mild bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Heavy tanning to spine and edges, with visible crushing to spine ends. Book has a prominent forward lean. Water drops to front and rear boards, with slight bubbling to front.
