About This Item
Boston, Ma: Bulfinch Press, 1997. Revised Edition . Soft cover. Very Good. This book presents more than 250 of the finest masterpieces in the Metropolitian collection, drawn from more than three million objects in eighteen curatorial departments. The works have been arranged in a generally chronological order by culture, beginning with ancient Egypt and ending with the twentieth century in Europe and America. Each reproduction is accompanied by a text that includes pertinent information about the work. An oversized and heavy work of 320 pages printed on high quality paper. There is some corner & edge wear and at the top of the spine at the front cover there is a small crease that extends for several pages. Book is clean and binding is tight. A quite nice copy; available for immediate shipment, carefully packed in a sturdy box.
