NY: D. Appleton and Company, 1845. Apparent First Edition. Hardcover. Good or Better. 4 x 6 inches. Small brown cloth binding, some discoloration/fading to rear cover, spine gilt decoration/lettering still bright well bound, clean. First gathering of leaves (about the first 20) are slightly distended from the binding, but are still firmly bound in, these pages show moderate foxing, balance of book minor foxing. Complete in itself, the spine says volume 1 and is part of a series, but this book is complete in itself. Frontispiece with tissue guard, plus 177 pages; preceded by one page advertisement of Appleton books. Scans can be made by request.
