Tan wraps with red/black warrior motif. 108 pp. with 22 color and 71 bw plates; map end papers. Catalogue from the exhibition of 1968, a rare subject for exhibition and publication for the Guggenheim. Included is an introductory essay and the 775 works on view, each annotated, and many pictured. With examples of pottery (glazed and unglazed), carved stone, textiles, gold figures, copper and more. Charts showing chronology/regions and eras/regions are helpful in understanding the types of arts and when/where they were created.
