This is a Very Good Copy of this Book in Publisher's blue coloured cloth with gilt title lettering to spine,in a Very Good Dust-Jacket,that has one small closed tear to the base of the spine and with some rubbing and creasing along outer edges of the wrapper that mostly affect the head and tail of spine.There appears to be some remnants of a water stain mark apparent to the base of spine on the wrapper which penetrates to the bottom edge of the rear cover.Not price clipped (£1.50 showing to inner flap) The book has a firm binding with no hinge weakness and with no leaning to spine.There is one crossed out owner's name to the front pastedown and a remnant line mark where a label or bookplate has been removed from the front endpaper.The text block remains in good order with only light spotting or age toning to the page edges.There is some sunning to the backstrip mostly prevalent to the top section of spine.This is an uncommon title and the very first appearance of Jack Aubrey in written word.A much sought after title.The Dust-wrapper comes well protected in a removable cover sleeve.8vo 250pp [1970] First UK Edition 1st Impression
