About This Item

Boston: Little Brown & Co., 1990. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. A stand-alone, mid-career novel from the author who introduced the contemporary western love story to the Romance genre. This story features Remy Jardin, a New Orleans heiress suffering from amnesia after being assaulted by an unknown attacker at a carnival in France, who must untangle a mysterious accident to save her family's shipping company. First edition, first printing (as stated, with complete numberline). About 6 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches, 326 pages in maroon paper-covered boards with darker maroon backstrip. Dustjacket's front panel features color photo of young woman with Mardi Gras mask behind author and title in deep red letters. Back panel has color photo of author. Fore edge shows two or three tiny traces of foxing, o/w text and boards are clean, complete and unmarked. No other noticeable flaws or damage. Dustjacket shows a touch of wear at spine ends and light age-tanning along top edge of dj. No tears, creases or surface wear. Not price-clipped. A collectable copy. Dailey, whose writing career began in 1974 at age 30 after a challenge from her husband, died in 2013 following heart surgery.
