Preface by Thomas Hardy. Black and white frontispiece. Pages and binding are presentable with no major defects. Minor issues present such as inscriptions, mild crinkling and light tanning. Boards have mild edge wear with light rubbing and crushing. Some light marking and tanning. There is bumping to corners. Book has a slight forward lean. Gilt lettering is bright and clear. Unclipped jacket has moderate edge wear with chips, tears and creasing. Tanning to spine and edges.
