Original 1957 purchase receipt laid in. A truly exceptional copy; The newspaper dispatches from which the contents of this volume have been selected were written by Mark Twain from San Francisco to the Virginia City (Nevada) Territorial Enterprise during the winter of 1865-66 - to be more specific, between late November and late February. The text of the articles is transcribed from clippings in a scrapbook apparently kept by Mark Twain's brother Orion ; 4to; [vi], 117, [3] pages .

Synopsis
