Dust jacket faded on the spine section with half inch tear at the top right of the rear panel, small crease to the front fold over flat. previous owner's name at the top of the front endpaper. Page 59 has a grubby mark from a thumbprint. There is no other damage to describe. The book is illustrated with black-and-white photographs, drawings, colour reproductions of artworks, and some flyers. The book is indexed. The illustrations which accompany the text of the book form a petroleum biography of Mark Twain, his family and friends all being represented and contemporary drawings depicting characters and scenes from his books are included. The author won a Pulitzer prize for biography in 1967 with his subject being Mark Twain Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall. 224 pages. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
