Here, she assumes control when her parents go on a journey to the South. Orig. published in 1910, this is a later printing with decorative endpapers in the second state full color DJ depicting Marjorie standing by a fence post. Bound in bright orange blue cloth with inset center image to front & black lettering to front & spine, this hardcover 8vo has 268 pages with ads for other series in rear + a glossy frontispiece (author unattributed). Condition is Fair: downgraded due to water damage to exterior, with mild dampstaining , soil, & light paper residue stuck to book in places. Mild dampstaining to top edges of pages in front matter only. Else, very clean, binding strong & straight, hinges secure. Pages creamy white with mild, age-appropriate tanning to edges, but unmarked. The unclipped DJ is also Fair-Good: colorful with some chipping & rubbing to extremities, many short tears; nicely protected in clear mylar cover.
