Jackson, Ohio: The Jackson Publishing Company, 1989. Paperback. Near Fine. 11" x 8.5" x 0.5. Illustrated. Signed. SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR, published in 1989. Paperback. The illustrated cover is a soft red, printed on laid paper with black lettering on the cover and spine. The back cover is adorned with vintage advertisements of railroads in black and white. Heavily illustrated with photographs, diagrams, and many other artifacts in black and white. Endpapers are a two page vintage photograph of "Engine 2123" with many men posed on and around the train engine, each with their names listed along the edges. Frontispiece is a black and white photograph of author John R. Grabb, who is acknowledged within the Forward as "long recognized as one of the best local historians in this area [southern Ohio]. There are few, if any, that can match the depth of his knowledge of local history." An additional image on the illustrated title page from Sheppard's Chillicothe Directory of 1873 reads, "The Marietta and Cincinnati in Connection with the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, Forms The Great Short Line between the East and West". The paper used in this book is 80 lb. matte, made by the Mead Corporation in Chillicothe, Ohio. Indexed. 152 pp. <br><br>CONDITION: Near fine overall, this copy shows only light wear, and bears a date stamp and a handwritten number at the top inside cover. A lovely copy, and a perfect gift for any railroad enthusiast or train hobbyist. Additional photographs available upon request. Full refund if not satisfied.
