Rider Haggard, an adventure novelist known for pioneering the lost world genre. He wrote on the lighter end of Victorian literature, also being involved in agricultural reform throughout the British Empire.Illustrated by A. C. Michael.Prior owner's pencil inscription to the recto to the front endpaper, and to the the head of the title page. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart.
