About This Item
Norman: University of Oklahoma Press; (1948). First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Good. Third printing of the first edition, very good in a poor dust jacket. The book has black cloth with a red title area and red lettering on the spine. There is some wear at the foot of the spine and on the tips of the upper corners; Christmas gift inscription from 1948 on front endpaper. The jacket is in poor shape, with 2" missing at the bottom of the spine, and much rubbing and edgewear generally. A repair has been made by taping paper to the inside of the jacket where some loss occurred at the top of the spine. Includes illustrated endpapers, line drawing illustrations, table of pottery, chronology, and bibliography; 294 pages. The 27th volume in The Civilization of the American Indian Series. Third printing stated on both jacket flap and copyright page, and the $3.75 price is on the jacket flap. Laid in is a color postcard with a photo of Maria, and a newspaper article about Maria. Generically signed by Alice Marriott on the front endpaper.
