Autobiography of James Brander Matthews (1852-1929), influential American author and professor of dramatic literature at Columbia University. Includes recollections of his early years, as well as glimpses of the literary scene in New York, Paris, and London from the 1870s through the 1920s. Among his many books were The Development of the Drama (1903), Principles of Playmaking (1919), and Playwrights on Playmaking (1923). First Printing of the First Edition. Hardcover.
