About This Item
Barcelona and Oxford: Palau and the Dolphin Book Co., 1948-1977. ONE OF ONLY 100 LARGE-PAPER SETS. 28 volumes, complete. The standard bibliography of books in Spanish and books in other languages relating to Spain and Spanish America. A monumental work: it took over 40 years to publish, and describes over 400,000 books, many in detail and with price information. Each volume printed in a limited edition of 2,100 copies, of which this is ONE OF ONLY 100 NUMBERED SETS PRINTED ON EXTREMELY FINE, THICK GUARRO LAID PAPER, WITH EACH VOLUME SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR (volumes 1-7 are signed in ink; volumes 8-28 are signed in facsimile, as the author died in 1955). Some index volumes were published later (albeit not in deluxe form), but they are useless since the work is organized alphabetically. Large, thick 4tos. Original wraps. A bit of wear and tear to the wraps of a few volumes, internally UNCUT, UNOPENED, FINE AND BRIGHT. A rare and important set, and perhaps the only extant complete deluxe set with the pages unopened.
