Pp. xxiv, 631, [3] - Explanation of the Plates, [1] - publ. advert. 6 inserted plates of line-art. Sympathetically rebound in quarter black leather over boards with the original blind-stamped brown cloth laiddown, 5 raised bands, gilt-stamped compartments, gilt-stamped maroon leather spine label, new endpapers. Original front blank contains a small, embossed stamp of Toronto bookseller, J.C Geikie, who operated from 1856-60. Very light offsetting to the text, light foxing to prelims, else a very good clean, tight, square copy. Handsome on the shelf.
