Beautifully illustrated with 9 colour plates by Alastair. Finely bound, by Bumpus, in contemporary half plum calf. Spine with 5 raised bands. Compartments double ruled, fully decorated and lettered in gilt. Salmon pink cloth on boards. Marbled endpapers. Top edge gilt. Light spotting to the blank endpapers otherwise a lovely bright copy in a fine early twentieth century leather binding with just a small are of abrasion to the top raised band on the spine. This edition contains a bibliography of the various editions of Salome published prior to this one.

Illustrated with 12 full colour plates, mounted onto the page within a decorative black printed border, colour illustrated endpapers and several black and white drawings throughout the text, all by Gordon Nicoll. A fine birght copy in Publisher's original light blue cloth with dark blue blocking and titles and illustration in silver to the upper board and spine. Top edge silver. Complete with the rare original illustrated dustwrapper which has a couple of tiny chips and is just a little toned to the spine. Housed in the publisher's original colour illustrated card slipcase. An excellent, fine copy, the binding clean and square, the contents clean throughout and without previous owner's inscriptions or stamps. The pictorial slipcase remains firm and intact with a little rubbing to the extremities. An attractive example, uncommon in this complete condition.

Compartments lettered and ruled in gilt. Navy blue cloth on boards. All edges Marbled. Blue marbled endpapers. School prize plate from Charterhouse on the front pastedown endpaper, dated 1932, signed by Frank Fletcher, the headmaster and presented to G. C. Riall. School arms stamped in gilt to the front board. The spine fo the book is rubbed and darkened but still an attractive copy of the lovely book.

Two small patches of browning affecting the top outer corner of ten leaves, otherwise a very good copy in fine nineteenth century binding by Thomson of Exeter, with binders ticket on front paste down. Full tan calf, raised bands, compartments fully gilt. Red title label, gilt. Boards with double blind ruled and one gilt ruled borders. Marbled endpapers. School prize plate on front paste down shows that this copy was given as a prize in January 1842. Previous owners name(dated 1881) and ink name stamp on blank endpapers. Front hinge neatly repaired. Some minor rubbing to edges but generally a very good copy in an attractive nineteenth century binding.:
