London: John Murray, 1847. 5 volumes in good condition. Pages are clean and unmarked with black and white plates throughout, with occaisional colour plates as well. Contains 600 beautiful plates and woodcuts. Marbled endpapers and page edges. Previous owner's bookplates on the feps, and some pencil markings on the back of the ffeps. Page edges are lightly faded. Half-bound in red leather and marbled paper. Boards are stained and scuffed. 5 raised bands on each spine. Rubbed, bumped, and worn around the edges. Gilt titles and designs on the spine. Spines are lightly darkened and rubbed. Volume 1: 406 pages. Volume 2: 446 pages. Volume 3: 403 pages. Volume 4: 444 pages. Volume 5: 483 pages + 48 pages of index and glossary. 3RD EDITION. A very nice set. G+/- -. 3rd Edition. Hardcover. Good+.
