About This Item
Providence, RI: Sidney Rider, 1867. First. Has split copyright and publishing dates. Hard Cover. Good overall. Hinges starting, Minimal xlib, pocket residue, however no title page markings. Has a very unusual bookplate, The Johnnycake Trail Collection to restore a flood damaged library./None. General Burnside fell out of favor after his fiasco at Fredericksburg. But somehow (political influence?) he stayed on to command the Ninth Corps. He left at least things for history - his sideburns and the name of the bridge across Antietam Creek.
Eight maps and eight illustrations all present. The plate and portraits are as nice as I have seen.
Nevins I-181.
