About This Item
1st ed, very scarce early Maigret. With fragile d/w in need of restoration. Numerous tears, chips and creases to the d/w and foxing to the verso of the d/w. Original price on rear flap of d/w intact 8s. net. Stamp stating OVERSEAS EDITION on rear flap. Foxing to top edge and very light foxing to fore edge. Some discolouration to the lower right corner of front board, and to lower left of rear board, possibly caused by water. Previous owner stamp on fep and some toning to fep and ffep and rear endpapers, with same owner stamp on rear pastedown. Other than that, no other inscriptions or pencil marks at all. The pages are beautifully clean all the way through. I have only seen one previously listed UK 1st M.Labbe with d/w on the internet in the past 7 or 8 years, which was listed at US$2800. This copy is priced to reflect d/w condition but it is a good candidate for restoration. Price includes free courier with DHL.
