About This Item

London: Heinemann, 1931. 8vo, pp. 349. Original three-quarter green boards, lettered in gilt to vellum spine. Publisher's device in gilt to front panel. Top edge gilt, leading and lower edges uncut, green silk bookmark bound in. Offsetting to endpapers, boards just a little bowed, but a very well preserved copy, lacking the slipcase. First edition. No. 57 OF 525 COPIES SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR TO LIMITATION PAGE. The first book in the final Forsyte trilogy -- or the seventh novel of the Forsyte Chronicle, if you prefer -- and a handsome example.
