"In the first part of the book, the intrinsic properties of the materials have been presented, after the necessary introduction, with only limited comment. A much fuller account was necessary in the latter part of the book, which deals with parameters such as permeability, coercivity, resonance, linewidth and switching speeds, which depend upon a combination of the intrinsic properties and other factors, such as specimen size and shape, purity and microstructure."
