First edition, first impression. xvi, 222pp. In blue cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering to spine. Signed and inscribed by both authors on the front free endpapers. Small 4to. Cloth a little bushed at spine heel. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket, bright and crisp. Dust jacket now protected in a Brodart-style sleeve, fitted without the use of tape or adhesives. The authors apply legal expertise and forensic skills to uncover the original meaning of the liberties enshrined in Magna Carta, and trace their development in later centuries up to the drafting of the US Constitution.
