London: Thomas Cadell, 1822. Cloth. Good+. Complete "Devonshire", with Parts I & II bound in one Volume. Part I Contains the GENERAL HISTORY OF DEVONSHIRE, Paginated to ccclv (355). Part II has its own Title Page (also Dated 1822) and Contains the PAROCHIAL HISTORY, Paginated to 581 (Includes the Isle of Lundy). Followed by Additions and Corrections, Index of Parishes; Index of Villages, Manors and Bartons; Index of Families; Index of Names & Titles and Genenral Index, bringing the Pagination of Part II to 682. Very detailed Local History. Well illustrated with 34 Plates, including a Colour Plate of "Painted Glass.Beer Ferrers Church" and Double-Page Plates "Dartmouth Haven", "Exmouth Haven", "Plymouth Haven", "View of Plymouth Dock" and a Fold-Out Plan of Exeter. Title Page, Contents and List of Plates Pages are followed by the Double-Page Map of Devonshire. Contemporary Cloth Binding with Brown Leather Title Label on spine. All page edges Untrimmed. 3.7 Kilos, 12 1/4" Tall. Small closed tear to cloth at top right corner of spine (1/2" long) and another in bottom left corner (1 1/2" long). Also 3 small holes in cloth at bottom of spine. Bottom fore corners worn. Hinges sound & Text block firm. No inscriptions. Pages in very good, clean condition, only an occasional small spot of foxing. Some small spots of foxing to some Plates, mainly Marginal and a little light browning (see photos).
