ca1870. Small 12 mo. Paperback. 14 x 9 cm. Illustrated paper covers with magician illustration. In very good condition. Later binding/repair to spine. Some minor rubbing to edges, small tear to top rear edge on cover. Small partial crack at bottom of front cover. Pages tanned. Tightly bound. Else an excellent clean and tight copy. Seven topics each with 8 colour plates, including Animals, Fairy Tales, Nursery Rhymes & Tradesmen. Alphabes, music and silhouettes in B&W. No title or publishing details as usual. Magician’s Blow-Book. These books were so designed that a blow of air by the conjuror and a swift riffling through the pages produced a different set of images, depending on how it was held by the various notches on page edges.
