The blue cloth cover is worn ant the edges and corners and there are a few small splits. The binding is still reasonably firm and there are no loose or missing pages but page 27/8 has a tear at the top edge. The first blank page has a previous owner's name. Inside there are some grubby marks and foxing which is mostly moderately light but widespread on some pages..

Akron, Ohio: Saalfield. Very Good- with no dust jacket. 1930. Hardcover. 60 p. 30 cm. Moisture stains on rear board has caused slight warp to upper corner and edge. Corners lightly bumped. Some wear to spine ends and corner tips. Moisture spotting on upper board. Overall light rubbing. Small piece missing from one corner of paste-down illustration. Tiny tear to edge of title page. Some foxing within, particularly to rear side of plates. Occasional light soiling to pages, but really quite bright and presentable. Includes 13 full colour and attractive watercolour plates by Clara Burd. This is a rare cloth-bound (black) edition, with a colour paste-down illustration of children raking leaves on the upper board. Book is heavy and will require extra postage to most destinations. .

London: Thomas Nelson and Sons. Very Good-. [1920]. Hardcover. 159 p. 26 cm. Sound and square with cloth backed spine. Coloured pastedown illustration on upper board. Corners rounded and worn through. Edges worn. Bottom of spine is slightly frayed. Upper board has a couple of small pull marks and stains. Lower board has darkened has has a stain along the bottom front corner. Inside, the endpapers are discoloured, the front free heavily so. The pages have occasional soiling, mostly in the margins, and are slightly age toned. One plate has a closed tear that extends 1" into the illustration and which has been repaired with acid free PVA. Still quite attractive, overall. A collection of stories and poems by such authors as Ethel Talbot and Angela Brazil, with six full colour plates by Scottish illustrator Anne Anderson, and pen and ink illustrations by her and her husband Allan Wright. .

Includes detailed sixteen-page introductory biography: "Life of Andersen". Green cloth boards, black embossed cover and spine design with vine and leaves. Title in the black book on front cover and Alta Edition in an outlined box lower middle of cover. On the spine is the title, the word, "Illustrated" and publisher's name which is not as clear as the other two. Cover and spine are faded and rubbed with edge wear. The ends of spine are fraying. Small chip on the back cover. Binding intact, but loose. First three pages have detached from the hinge. Interior clean and unmarked except for previous owner's name on two of the fly pages. Dustjacket is price-clipped with some loss to spine ends and corners. Book has corresponding fading and a tiny tear to top of spine. Corners a little rubbed. Illustrated with lovely colour and black & white pictures by Savile Lumley. 54 pages. Constance Heward was the author of the popular Ameliaranne series. Savile Lumley was a popular book illustrator and poster designer. He also provided the drawings for several magazines and comics including The Boy's Own Paper, The Champion Annual, Chatterbox and Little Folks. A 2 line verse describes the hand-colored illustration for each month of the year. A well-preserved little book.
