First edition of this classic fantasy that gained its popularity when combined with Bonfires and Broomsticks to become Bedknob and Broomsticks. Illustrated by Waldo Pierce with 15 full page color lithos, 9 half page color lithos, color pictorial endpapers and full & partial page black and white lithos. This precedes the British edition (with different illustrations) by 2 years. Quite scarce.

Originally published in the US in 1943 and in the UK in 1945, this is a reprint from 1946. The 1971 film "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" was partly based on the book. 112pp, colour and b&w drawings..
