First book by Ferenc Molnár (1878-1952) the Hungarian born American dramatist and novelist. Molnár's plays were widely translated, and adapted to stage and screen. The most notables were "The Guardsman" directed by Sidney Franklin in 1931, and featuring Alfred Lunt, Lynn Fontanne, Roland Young, and ZaSu Pitts; "The Devil" by Micheal Curtiz (1918) and James young in 1921, starring George Arliss.
