A collection of high-quality reproductions of street and documentary photographs by Shigeichi Nagano (1925-2019), originally published in Japanese photography magazines from the late 1950s to the early 1970s, and demonstrative of the "conflict of people in regards to the society that had dramatically changed amidst the backdrop of rapid economic growth," according to the introductory text (in both Japanese and English) by Manabu Torihara. With also an "interview" text, also in Japanese and English, in which Nagano recounts details about specific photos. Tokyo: life goes on & TAXi / Heibonsha, 2009. First edition. Quarto; gray paper stamped in silver to front board & spine; dust jacket. 88pp.; photo-illustrated in b&w & color. Fine in a near fine jacket, white portions a trifle toned & with crumpling along top edge.

All books ship free with tracking to domestic addresses via USPS Media Mail. In most cases, delivery takes place within a three to ten day window, although the vicissitudes of USPS may apply. Unless otherwise requested, expedited domestic purchases ship via USPS Priority Mail; overseas orders via USPS First Class International. Heavy or oversized books may incur additional shipping charges, as may books shipped to overseas destinations. Any additional charges required will be communicated promptly.
We take safe shipping very seriously; all of our books are packaged in new cardboard boxes amply cushioned with biodegradable packing peanuts. Pamphlets and other flat materials items are ocassionally shipped in bubble-mailers with internal cardboard supports. All books with dust jackets are fitted with brand new archival protectors prior to shipping.
