About This Item
Berkeley: Privately Printed, 1994. First edition. Loose Sheets. Fine. An interesting piece of Gifford ephemera. This item consists of loose mimeographed sheets of a libretto conceived of by Barry Gifford. Story by Gifford, Daniel Schmid and Toru Takemitsu based on an idea by Takemitsu. 48 pp plus preliminaries printed on rectos only. It does not appear that this was ever published. The manuscript copy comes with a single page SIGNED handwritten letter from Gifford to Marshall Clements. The letter is dated 13 June '94. Gifford is sending the mss to Clements. He also notes that he has finished the first draft of Kerouac's On The Road and will be sending that along soon. Both the copy of the libretto and the letter come with the original hand-addressed envelope sent to Clements. Contents fine. Envelope is worn and creased.
