About This Item

Middle Village, New York: Jonathan David, 1976. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Near Fine/Good. Though reprinted many times, this is the scarce true FIRST EDITION, First Printing from 1976, with original red/white/black DJ. A collection of human monsters throughout history who, while perhaps not technically insane, "became blinded to reality because of over-dedication to an ideal or to a political objective." Entries are organized into 3 categories: despots, assassins, & hangmen/henchmen/mystics. Hardcover has bright red textured cloth over boards with huge gilt letters to spine. Condition is Near Fine: extremely clean save for minor shelfwear, binding straight & secure, pages slightly off-white but completely unmarked. The unclipped DJ downgraded to only Good due to light surface soil, chipping & an unclosed tear descending diagonally from top to outer edge of back cover. Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same Day Shipping on all orders received by 2 pm Weekdays (Pacific); later orders, Weekends & holidays ship very next business day.
