About This Item
The First UK printing published by Robert Holden, London in 1927. The BOOK is in Very Good++ or better condition with just a tiny area of splitting to the front spine of the cloth and a very slight lean. Printed paper label to the spine intact and clean. Light toning to the text-block with a hint of off-setting to the blank end-papers. Free from inscriptions. The scarce WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good+ condition. A little rubbing and creasing at the spine tips with a little loss. Spine toned and a lightly rubbed in places. Some light age related markings, with a small stain to the front panel. The Ralph Keene wrapper artwork remains very striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. A comedy play by the noted Czech author. The basis for the acclaimed opera 'The Makropulos Affair' by fellow Czech composer, Leos Janacek. A very scarce title and presently the only copy available in e-commerce. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact.
