Late Victorian American textile design and pattern book for decorative knotting and needlework. The techniques of macramé and rick-rack stitching and trimming are described and projects using these techniques are demonstrated. The projects include tassel making, a border design for canvas, a thread and needle case, a sachet and pin cushion, a "fancy cushion for toilette set," a lap robe, and a "tidy of ribbon and lace," a kind of doily. With publisher's ad for worsted cross-stitch patterns, "New 1885 Edition ! Extra Pages!"
