About This Item

Ingolstadii - Ingolstadt: Adami Sartorii, 1602 Book. Good. Full-Leather. [xx], 892, [36] pages. Title page printed in red and black. Ink owner's inscription to the head of the title page. In old full leather which is worn. Wormhole to the fore edge of the text block affecting the lower margins only of pages 107-138, well clear of the text. Also a wormhole from the rear board affecting just the outer margin of the final 12 pages of the index. It appears that at some point various sections of text were covered over with paper - censored perhaps, or just attaching the reader's own notes?. At some later point this paper has been removed and it has caused some damage to pages in the process. This affects pages - 89, 100, 101, 107, 121, 131, 143, 144, 155, 164, 192, 193, 199, 204, 221, 222, 231, 232, 237 and 238. I may have missed a few. It affects some words on some of the pages. Pages 143, 221/2 and 231/2 have tears to the margins. Loss of some text on page 232. Pages 237/8 are torn at the edges and with words obscured on page 237. Just some light browning to pages. An elegantly printed volume. A large and heavy volume - extra postage will be required to send it outside the UK..
