No bumps, slight rubs to corners and to head and tail of spine, no other visible faults. GOOD* Jacket condition: No dust wrapper. (Probably as issued.)* Contents condition: PRIVATE COPY NOT EX-LIBRARY. Clean, crisp and tight with absolutely minimal marks to text, some foxing & slight marks to prelims and tail end papers. Top edge gilt, other edges rough cut & aged, otherwise no visible faults. GOOD* Illustrations: One b/w tissue guarded print at frontis, showing de Quincey (slightly loose).* Pages: 163 pp. text. vi pp. advertisements & blank pages at rear.* Description: This selection has been made from De Quincy?s authorised and collected works, without recourse to the ?sweepings of his study,? so piously edited of late years. By the generous courtesy of Messrs. A. & C. Black I have been able to include The Daughter of Lebanon, first published in 1856, and to use the final text of the Confessions of an English Opium-Eater, belonging to the same year. R.
