About This Item
London: Herbert Jenkins Limited, 1935 A very good copy of the first issue published in 1935 in a good second issue wrapper. The book has a red cloth binding with black titles to front board and spine. The spine is very slightly cocked to the front with light pulling to ends. There is a small indent at the side edge of the front board and the top corners are turned. There is a slightly darker area at the bottom spine end where is joins the front board. Top page edges reddened. Contents are very clean with a very small repaired edge tear at the top of p 9. One page of reviews and 7 pages of publisher's adverts at the rear. The wrap has 2/6 on the spine with an oval browned area below it suggesting that perhaps another price sticker was removed. The front flap has 33 titles. There is edge nibbling with some loss at the fold edges and some small tears. Archive tape has been used to stabilise the edges. There is some rubbing to folds and slight darkening at the side edges of the panels towards the flaps. The wrap is pretty spotty on the verso.

About E C Books
E C Books is a small online bookselling business, specialising in pre 20th century works:natural history, science, history, and travel, aiming for rarer and more unusual books. Our largest stock area is Natural History, where we have a good range of books from the 1700-1800's, many finely illustrated. Other areas include children's books, particularly late 1800's-early 1900's - again illustrated; and literature pre 1900.When you order books from us we ensure that they are properly packed to protect condition, and we always use recorded or 'signed for' postal services for more secure delivery. Please note that we have recently moved to the beautiful Orkney Islands, where we intend to open a bookshop over the next year. Because of our location we cannot guarantee 'next day' delivery but we will get your purchase to you as quickly and safely as we can. Please note that the buyer is responsible for the payment of any tax or duty on import.
