Would be Very Good except the binding is warped. Dustjacket is sunned, with one closed tear, and a 1" chip out of the front. Inscribed on title page "For Deana & Charles Bell - hoping that they will soon return to Sewanee. Thad Lockard Sewanee 7 April '80". From the library of Charles Bell, writer, poet, and Rhodes scholar. Raised in Greenville, Mississippi, Bell's schoolmates included Walker Percy and Shelby Foote. Bell's Greenville, Mississippi, childhood included classmates Walker Percy and Shelby Foote. His first novel, The Married Land, Houghton Mifflin, 1962, was praised by William Carlos Williams. His works include three volumes of poetry, two novels, and an audio-visual opus, "Symbolic History".
