Blue and white coloured paperback binding blue and black coloured titles to the front panel and black coloured titles to the back strip. The reminiscences of the author, who as a young man, left his homeland of Czechoslovakia to become a musician upon a passenger liner trading in the Red Sea. Here is the back room story of what it is like on a passenger liner and of the eccentric personalities, both passenger and crew, that the author met. It is also an invocation of a time and of Europe that no longer exists. Creasing of the book corners with rubbing of the book edges and panels with quite notable rubbing either side of the back strip. Light browning of the book panels and dark of sunning to the back strip. The book has been stored improperly and it feels somewhat "bumpy".
