About This Item
New York, New York: Grove Press, 1969. First Paperback . Soft cover. Good+. Scarce work from the former field secretary of the SNCC, the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee, which worked in the early 1960s for racial equality & justice in the US. Aimed at white America, it aims to explain "the birth, meaning, & implications" of the Black Power movement, & explores "what changes will have to be made soon if race war is to be prevented." A powerful & prescient work, this is the First Mass Market Paperback Edition, First Printing, from Grove Press, 1969. Condition is Good+: generally very clean with the occasional spot/light soil, mild-moderate edgewear all around, the worst of which is a medium crease to the upper-outer corner of front cover. Binding straight & strong, pages moderately tanned, commensurate with age & paper quality. NO writing/highlighting/underlining; not ex-lib. Nicely protected in new mylar collector bag Free! Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same day shipping on all orders received by 2 pm Weekdays (Pacific time); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day.
